Lakeshore High School provides access to career and technical education (CTE) classes through the Public Act 56 Consortium (PA56). Every day in Berrien County, hundreds of high school students cross district lines to take advantage of career and technical education programs offered in other districts. Lakeshore currently offers six (6) CTE and two (2) shared time courses at our high school: Welding, Automotive, Mechanical Drawing and CAD, Marketing, Machine Tool, and Teacher Cadet. Many of these courses can also receive direct credit through our local community colleges. Our Lakeshore students also travel to other districts to take a variety of classes such as: Professional Health Care Academy, Criminal Justice, Sports Medicine, EMT, Construction Trades and Fire Fighting, to name just a few options.
A total list of all of the Berrien County Career and Technical Education Courses can be found on the berriencte website.
The rigorous education students receive through the Career & Technical Education (CTE) programs provide students with the technical skills and academic knowledge needed to prepare for future employment and/or a successful transition to post-secondary education.
Our career educational options are some of the most valuable resources and can help high school students gain a competitive advantage while preparing for college or a career. Our goal is to continue the tradition of excellence by enhancing our career and technical education programs with an innovative approach that serves our county’s secondary students. Our objective is to help students experience a seamless entry into institutions of higher learning leading to academic and workplace success.
